Carole A. Bays, the daughter of Mary Ann Hagar Bays and the late Clarence Gene Bays, was born in West Hamlin, W.Va., on Oct. 15, 1957, and died at the Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau on Thursday, Nov. 10, 2010, at the age of 53. She had lived in Dexter and Essex areas most all her life.

Surviving are her mother, Mary Ann Bays of Michigan; two daughters, Tryna Mitchell of Dexter and Melissa High of Fisk; two brothers, David and Robert Bays, both of Michigan; five sisters, Penny Akin of Dexter, Norma Johnson of West Virginia, Linda Stallings of Michigan, Amy Bays of Michigan, and Connie Huffman of Florida. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one brother, Rick Bays.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Nov. 12, 2010, from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Services will be held Friday, Nov. 12, 2010, at 1 p.m. in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. James Malloy of Essex officiating.

Interment will be in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
