Buford Summers

Buford Summers, son of the late J. B. Summers and Ora Lee Elder Summers, was born on Dec. 30, 1945 at Blytheville, Ark. and died in his residence near Dexter on Nov. 12, 2010 at the age of 64.

Mr. Summers was a member of the Gospel Assembly Church, a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Vienam War, a former engineer with the Corp of Engineers and a resident of Dexter.

He is survived by two brothers, Max Summers and Bill Summers, both of Dexter; one sister, Connie Avery of Bowling Green; other relatives and friends.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Coy Summers, Alton Jerry Summers and Lonnie Dale Summers; two sisters, Joyce Summers and Betty Louise Phillips; and one half brother, Robert Roy Pilcher.

Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 10-11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 15, 2010.

Funeral services will then be conducted at 11 a.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel.

Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield with full military honors.
