Melissa Anne Copeland, daughter of the late Alton and Jonnie Sue Copeland, was born on Jan. 13, 1979 in Poplar Bluff and died on Nov. 13, 2010, at her residence in Dexter at the age of 31.

Melissa was employed at The Daily Statesman as circulation assistant for the past four years and was a lifelong resident of Dexter.

She had a smile for everyone who entered her life on a daily basis and was a devoted employee and friend to all with whom she worked.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents in recent years.

She is survived by one sister, Rebecca Lynne Copeland, of Wappapello, and by one special niece, Courtney Copeland of Wappapello.

Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Wednesday, Nov, 17, 2010, from 5-8 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010 at 2 p.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Leon Corzine officiating. Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery.
