Donald R. Green

Donald R. Green, son of the late Reedy Green and Mattie Hampton Green, was born on Nov. 14, 1932, at Malden and died in the John J. Pershing Veterans Administration Medical Center in Poplar Bluff on Friday, Dec. 3, 2010, at the age of 78.

Mr. Green was a former printer in the Government Printing Office in Washington D.C., the former owner of Boyer's Cleaners in Dexter, a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Korean War, a Life Member of the V.F.W., a Past District Commander of the V.F.W. in Maryland, a member of the Dexter Eagles Club FOE #4062, and a resident of Dexter.

He was united in marriage to Jean Stephenson on Aug. 10, 1966, at St. Louis. Mrs. Green survives of the home in Dexter.

Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, Scott Green of Dexter, Larry Green and Allen Green; three daughters, Sarena Hutson of St. Charles, Tina Akins of Dexter and Donna Green; one brother, James L. Green of Ste. Genevieve; two sisters, Mary Livingston of Advance and Fleta Sue Cook of Oneida, N.Y.; and 10 grandchildren.

Mr. Green was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Norman Green.

Visitation was held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 5-8 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 5, 2010.

Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 6, 2010, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel.

Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with full military honors.
