Mary F. Davis, daughter of the late Walter Stonewall Jackson Howell and Lelia Ida Smith Howell, was born on Oct. 19, 1915 at Bernie and died in the Poplar Bluff Regional Medicl Center on Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010 at the age of 95.

Mrs. Davis was a member of the First Church Of The Nazarene in Dexter, a former cook for the Dexter Public School System and a resident of Dexter.

She was united in marriage to William Paul Davis on March 4, 1933 at Piggott, Ark. Mr. Davis preceded her in death on Feb. 27, 2002.

She is survived by one son, William "Bill" Davis of Rolling Fork, Missi.; three daughters, Elizabeth L. Davis Combs of Urbana, Ill., Peggy S. Davis Stott of Lake St. Louis, Mo., and Rita Davis McKain of Dexter; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Rubert Howell, Reuben Howell and Jack Howell; seven sisters, Dorothy Botsch, Opal Rodgers, Ruth Faulkner, Gladys Smith, Wilma Adams, Virginia Smith and Willie Carlson.

Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2010.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2010, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Roger Wooten officiating. Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
