Deanna Kay Gibson, daughter of the late John Daniel Young and Gladys Hazel Allen Young was born Nov. 9, 1951 in Bernie, Mo. and died at her residence in Bernie on Jan. 18, 2011 at the age of 59.

Mrs. Gibson had been Bernie City Clerk for over 18 years and was now employed by BPS Telephone Company of Bernie as assistant office supervisor. She was a member of the Bernie Northside Baptist Church.

She was united in marriage to Cloyd (C.E.) Gibson on Sept. 9, 1995. He survives of their home in Bernie.

Other survivors include one daughter, Brooke Ellen Nimmo of Bernie.: two grandsons, John Allen Nimmo and Wyatt Dale Nimmo both of Bernie; four brothers, Jerry Young of Dexter, Mo., Rex Young of Coushatta, La., Danny Young and Dale Young, both of Bernie; one sister, Donna Yeager of Dexter; also by other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death other than by her parents, by two brothers, Johnnie Young and Jimmie Lee Young.

Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie on Friday, Jan. 21, 2011, from 5-8 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday morning, Jan. 22, 2011, starting at 11 a.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie with Rev. O.H. Brooks and Rev. Tim Ingle officiating.

Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Stoddard County Foster Family Christmas through the Second General Baptist Church, 15 East St. Francis Street, Dexter, Mo. or to the Shannon Tarkington Scholarship Fund through the Bernie Schools.
