Eldon B. Cook died Jan. 21, 2011 at the age of 73. He was born in Bloomfield, Mo. and graduated from Bloomfield High School. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Cook (nee: Welker), whom he married on July 31, 1957; his children, Debra Ann (Cook) Thurston (Brian) of Florissant, Mo. and Donald Eldon Cook (Katrinia) of Granite City, Ill.; grandchildren, Pamela Thurston, Melodi Cook, Samantha Cook, Stephanie Hozian, Sabrina Cook, Emily Cook and great-grandchild, Zoey Cook; his sister, Ruth Ann Wilson; brothers, James Cook (Molly) and Bob Cook (Stella), and the late J.P. Cook and Jewel Scott.

Eldon spent 22 years in the US Coast Guard and retired on 10/1/1972 with an honorable discharge at the rank of Chief Petty Officer and also retired with 20 years of services at Prairie Farms Dairy in Granite City. Eldon loved to travel and visit his family, fly single and twin engine planes, ride his Gold Wing, and play with Dolly, their little doggie.

Visitation will take place Monday, Jan. 24 from 6-8 p.m. Services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 25 at 11:30 a.m. at Bucholz Spanish Lake Mortuary, 1645 Redman Ave. Interment National Cemetery Jefferson Barracks.
