Gwen Robey, daughter of the late Sanford Coffer and Golda Henson Coffer, was born on March 7, 1931 at Sikeston and died in the Cypress Point Healthcare in Dexter on Feb. 7, 2011 at the age of 79.

Ms. Robey was a member of the Advance Church Of Christ, a former employee of the Advance Nursing Home, a former resident of Advance and a resident of Dexter.

She was united in marriage to Vestal King Robey in 1950. Mr. Robey preceded her in death.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Colleen and Rob Reid of Poplar Bluff and Pauline and Jimmie Jones of Hopkins, S.C.; one brother, H. W. Coffer of Yucaipa, Calif.; three sisters, Billie Fliegel of Birmingham, Ala., Mary Franchek of Crystal Lake, Ill. and Molly Klien of Sarasota, Fla.; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren,; and extended family, Sheila Crippen and Aileen Robey.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Paul Robey; two daughters, Barbara Sue Woodburn and one in infancy; by two grandchildren, Rebecca Sue Robey and Wyatt Robey.Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 9:30-11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011, with Rev. Keith Luke and Rev. Calvin Buhler officiating. Interment will follow in the Gravel Hill Cemetery.
