Lula Jarrell, daughter of the late Vernie Owens and Ivory Johnson Owens, was born on Feb. 11, 1936 at Rector, Ark. and died in the Cypress Point Healthcare at Dexter on Feb. 20, 2011 at the age of 75.

Mrs. Jarrell was of the Assembly Of God faith, the co-owner of J & L Video in Dexter, a former employee of Purolator Filter Company in Dexter and a resident of Dexter. She enjoyed flowers and crocheting.

She was united in marriage to Jerry Jarrell on June 29, 1974 at Dexter. Mr. Jarrell preceded her in death on May 29, 2002.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Terry Harmon of Dexter; by one daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Jonah Rogers of Dexter; by one step-daughter and step-son-in-law, Terri and Bruce McClintock of Michigan; by one sister, Shirley Beck of Rector, Ark.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one step-grandchild; and seven step-great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one step-son, Charley Jarrell.

Visitation will take place at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral in Dexter from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2011. Funeral services will then be conducted at 11 a.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Kent Kassinger officiating. Interment will follow in the Sadler Chapel Cemetery.
