Geraldine Duncan, daughter of the late Elmer Louis Sanders and Bessie Irene Purcell Sanders, was born on July 27, 1944 in Essex and died on Feb. 22, 2011 at the Golden Living Center in Bloomfield at the age of 66.

Mrs. Duncan was retired from Elders Manufacturing and Arvin in Dexter. She was a member of the South Pleasant Valley Church and was a resident of Essex.

She was united in marriage to Jerry Duncan on Dec. 21, 1962 at Dexter. Mr. Duncan survives of their home in Essex.

Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Sherman Dale Duncan and wife, Kathleen, of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Terry Glen Duncan of Essex; by three brothers, Doyle Sanders, Roy Sanders and Donald Sanders, all of Essex; and by six grandchildren, Sierra, Jerry, Cyrus, Kristen, Austin and Katrina.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, James Sanders, Dee Sanders and Elmer Sanders Jr. and by four sisters, Martha DeSmethers, Wilma Jean Alberson, Mildred Williams and Anna Lee Duley.

Visitation will take place at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Friday, Feb. 25, 2011 from 5-8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011 at 1 p.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jerry Hart officiating. Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
