Zelma Porter

Zelma Porter, daughter of the late James E. and Hattie M. Alberson Lawson, was born on July 30, 1929 in Canalo, Mo. and died at the Howell Care Center in Howell, Mich. on March 14, 2011 at the age of 81.

Mrs. Porter was a member of the Ypsilanti Assembly of God Church and the TOPS group for many years. She loved her friends at the church and at TOPS. Treva was a resident of Howell, Mich., formerly of Ypsilanti, Michigan.

On June 9, 1984 she was united in marriage to William R. Porter and he preceded her in death in 2004.

Survivors include one sister, Naomi Ruth Mouser of Essex, Mo. and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, three sisters and three brothers.

Visitation will take place at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 11a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Tuesday March 22, 2011. Graveside services will be conducted on Tuesday March 22, 2011 at 1 p.m. at the Essex Cemetery in Essex.
