Samuel Mack Davis, son of the late Samuel Felix Davis and Lera D.L. Webb Davis, was born on Feb. 12, 1950 in Bernie, Mo. and died on March 25, 2011 at the John Cochran V.A. Medical Center in St. Louis, Mo. at the age of 61.

Davis had formerly worked at car auctions, as a welder in the Gulf of Mexico and most recently as a truck driver. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in Vietnam War. He was a resident of Puxico.

He is survived by two sisters, Judy Davis and Darlene McCormick both of Dexter; by two nieces, Teresa Phipps and husband Don of Gaston, South Carolina and Angie Williamson and husband Tom of Dexter; by two nephews, David W. Davis and wife Kirsten of Lexington, South Carolina and Lt. J.G. Edward Clayton McCormick on active duty on the USS Mahan; by one great niece, Caroline Bess Davis of Lexington, South Carolina.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 1 to 3 p.m., Sunday, March 27, 2011. Funeral services will then be conducted at 3 p.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Steve Tippen officiating. Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery.
