Genevieve Reese, the daughter of the late James Almer Wilkes and Annie Emoline Williams, was born in Qulin, Mo.,, on Jan. 17,1930 and died at her home in Dexter, Mo., on March 27, 2011, at the age of 81.
She had lived in the Dexter area most of her life. She was of the Christian faith.
On April 13, 1946 she was married to Willie Ray Reese in Piggott, Ark., and he preceded her in death on May 19, 2003.
Surviving are five sons, Jimmy Reese, Danny Reese, Michael Reese, all of Dexter, Perry Reese, of Sikeston, Mo., Jeff Reese of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; two daughters, Janice Sugg of Dexter and Judy Rainey of Memphis, Tenn.; 19 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one brother James Wilkes, St. Louis, Mo. Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one son, Roger Reese; two grandsons, Jimmy and Richard Reese.; three brothers; and three sisters.
Visitation was held Monday, March 28, 2011, after 11 a.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.
Graveside funeral services were held Monday, March 28, 2011, at 1 p.m. at the Caroline Dowdy Cemetery in Dexter with the Rev. Karen Oldham of Dexter officiating.
Interment followed in the Caroline Dowdy Cemetery in Dexter with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
