Linda Newell, daughter of the late Sam and Katherine May Frazier, was born in Gideon, Mo., on Sept. 29, 1951, and died at the Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Mo., on March 30, 2011, at the age of 59.
She had lived in Dexter, Mo., most of her life. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Dexter.
On Sept. 18, 1981, she was married to David Newell in Sikeston, Mo.
Surviving are her husband, David Newell of Dexter; four sons, Jay Rodgers of Dexter, Danny Rodgers of Imperial, Mo., Glen Rodgers of Arnold, Tim Newell of Morley, Mo.; two daughters, Glenda Martin of Republic, Mo., Melissa March of Dexter; 16 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three brothers, Kenneth "Junior" Henson of Chicago, Ill., Ray Frazier of Dexter, George Frazier of Bonne Terre, Mo.; two sisters, Margie Anthony of Dexter and Margaret Gamblin of Malden, Mo. Many other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one great-grandson; and two sisters, Billie Jo McCullough and Mary Matthews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 3, 2011, after 12:30 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, April 3, 2011, at 2 p.m. in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. Danny Collins of Qulin, Mo. officiating.
Interment will be in the Dexter Cemetery in Dexter with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
