Bobbie Nell Mead
Bobbie Nell Mead, daughter of the late James Alvin White and Carrie Bell Fowler White, was born on March 22, 1939 in Winfield, Ala. and died on March 31, 2011 in Golden Living Care Center in Dexter at the age of 72.

Mrs. Mead was a homemaker, a member of the Vinson General Baptist Church and a resident of Bernie.

Survivors include three sons, Michael J. White of St. Louis, David Wayne Ladd of Bernie, and John Edward Ladd of Dexter; four daughters, Janet Sue White of Marquand, Nancy Ann Weaver of Bernie, Lori Ann Mead of Catron, and Rebeca Sue Mead of Bernie; one brother, Printess Ray White of Bernie; three sisters, Ruth Canard of McCroy, Ark., Patricia Massey of Bowling Green, Ky. and Johnnie Partain of St. Louis; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Other friends and relatives also survive.

She was preceded in death other than by her parents by two brothers, Roger Dale White and James William "Whitey" White; by one sister in infancy, Loretta White; and by one grandson, Freddie Akridge.

Visitation will take place at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie on Friday, April 1, 2011 from 5-8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery. Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
