Dr. Robert H. Boon, DDS, son of the late Alfred D. and Blanche Halstenburg Boon, was born in Franklin, Mo., on June 14, 1924, and died at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girar-deau, Mo., on April 2, 2011, at the age of 86.

He had attended Washington University in St. Louis where he graduated from Dental School. After graduating he moved to Dexter, where he owned and operated his dental practice for over 60 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dexter.

On Feb. 21, 1981, he was married to Brenda Joyce Smith in Dexter.

Surviving are his wife, Brenda Boon of Dexter; one son, Robert Eric Boon of Columbia, Mo.; one granddaughter, Ashton Boon; and one step-grandson, John Rose. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one son, Christopher Boon; one sister, Thelma Mouser; and one step-daughter, Debra Rose.

Memorial funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at 11 a.m. at the Mo. Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Mo.

Interment will be in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with full military honors. Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter is in charge of arrangements.
