Altha Lois Watkins, daughter of the late Thomas Andrew and Lilly Octavia Cox Smith, was born in Oak Ridge, Mo. on Jan. 24, 1916, and died at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo. on April 14, 2011, at the age of 95.

She had lived in Bloomfield, Mo. area all of her life until moving to the Golden Living Center in Dexter seven years ago. She had worked at Elder Manufacturing in Bloomfield, Mo. for 30 years, and she was a member of the Church of Christ.

On Dec. 26, 1934, she was married to Floyd G. Watkins. He preceded her in death on Jan. 4, 1990.

Surviving are one son, Thomas June Watkins of Dexter; one sister, Ruby DelSanto of Branson, Mo., and many nieces and nephews. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Virgie Monroe and Irene Black, and two brothers, Elvin Shipley Smith and Alfred Smith.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 17, 2011, after 12 p.m. at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

Funeral services will be on Sunday, April 17, 2011, at 2 p.m. in the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Bro. Travis Quetermous of Dexter officiating.

Interment will be in the Oak Ridge Cemetery near Bloomfield.

Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
