Robert Barr Sr., son of the late Walter Roslle and Grace Livermore was born on Dec.16, 1927 in Forest Park, Ill., and died at the Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter, Mo., on April 23, 2011 at the age of 83.

Mr. Barr was the owner and operator of Barr's Window Cleaning in Dexter, a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II, member of the Lighthouse Christian Center in Dexter, and a resident of Dexter. Bob was also a member of the Dexter Eagles, Dexter Elks Organization #2439, and participated in O.A.S.I.S. at the Lighthouse Christian Center in Dexter.

On July 23, 1949 he was united in marriage to Eva V. Swatzell in River Grove, Ill. Mrs. Barr preceded him in death on March 16, 2009.

Survivors include one son, Robert H. Barr Jr. of Dexter; by five daughters, Deborah Hewett of Germanton, N.C., Sharon Nielsen of Elk Grove, Ill.,, Marilyn Lacy and Roberta Espey, both of Dexter, and Carolyn Houseman of Benton; 16 grandchildren;18 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; and a very dear friend, Therma Launius.

Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one brother.

Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 5- 8 p.m. on Tuesday April 26, 2011.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at 11 a.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Tim Russell officiating.

Interment will follow at the Missouri State Veteran Cemetery in Bloomfield , Mo., with full military honors.
