Doris Jean Patton, 73, a resident of Malden, was born on Jan. 16, 1938, in Risco and died Sunday, April 24, 2011, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter, Mo. She was the daughter of the late George Woodrow Knight and Susie Mable Rodgers Knight. She was of the General Baptist faith and had retired from Brown Shoe Co.

She was united in marriage to J.M. Patton in 1978, and he preceded her in death on April 24, 2005.

Survivors include three daughters, Pamela "Pam" Norman of Dudley, Mo., Debbie Smith of Poplar Bluff, Mo., and Linda Stanley and her husband Jeff of Dexter; one brother, Clayton Knight of Risco, Mo.; five grandchildren, Stacia Shipman of Jackson, Mo., Clinton Lawrence of Dudley, Amanda Adams of Parma, Mo., Jentri Kasinger of Malden, Mo., and Colby Denson of Jonesboro, Ark.; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Jimmy Adams; one sister, Patsy White; and one brother, Larry Knight.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. on Thursday, April 28, 2011, at Bradshaw Chapel in Malden

Funeral services will be conducted at 12 p.m. on Thursday, April 28, 2011, at Bradshaw Chapel in Malden with Rev. Mark Powell officiating.

Interment will follow in Rosewood Cemetery in Malden.

Bradshaw Funeral Home of Malden is in charge of arrangements.
