Howard E. McCollough, son of the late Francis McCollough and Hattie Sheehy McCollough, was born on Oct. 17, 1923 near Dexter and died in the Westwood Hills Health and Rehabili-tation Center at Poplar Buff on May 3, 2011 at the age of 87.

Mr. McCollough attended the Corinth General Baptist near Puxico, was a farmer and a resident of Dudley.

He was united in marriage to Verline Ferguson on Oct. 18, 1942 near Dexter. Mrs. McCollough survives of the home near Dudley.

Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Howard "Bud" McCollough and wife Pat of Dudley; one daughter, Dorothy Tankersley and husband Jerry of Wappapello; one brother, Kenneth McCollough of Dexter; one sister, Ruth Ann McCollough of Dexter; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Delvis McCollough; three brothers, John McCollough, Alfred McCollough and Bud McCollough; two sisters, Dorothy Mathews and Joy Agnes McCollough.

Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 5, 2011.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 6, 2011 in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Justin Cook officiating.

Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
