Jymme Bridges, daughter of the late James Franklin Chastain and Dessie Lauderdale Chastain was born on April 14, 1928 in Brilliant, Ala., and died on Friday, May 6, 2011 in Pollard, Ark., at the age of 83.

Mrs. Bridges was a Sunday School teacher at the Dexter Church of Christ where she was a member for many years. She was formerly of Dexter but was a current resident of Huntsville, Ala.

On Aug. 31, 1945 she was united in marriage to Edward L. Bridges in Piggott, Ark. Mr. Bridges preceded her in death on July 10, 2001.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Glenn Bridges and Billee of Mount Washington, Ky.; one daughter and son-in-law, Jan Horner and Richard of Huntsville, Ala.; two sisters, Opal Jackson of Vancouver, Wash., and Jeanie Buck of Marmaduke, Ark.; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 1-3 p.m. on Monday May 9, 2011.

Funeral services will then be conducted on Monday at 3 p.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Dr. Lynn Anderson and Stan Dauck officiating.

Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
