Norman Eugene Scott, son of the late Everett L. and Elizabeth M. Peck Scott, was born in Puxico, Mo.,i on Dec. 17, 1934, and died at his home in Dexter, Mo., on May 12, 2011, at the age of 76.

He was raised in Puxico and graduated from Puxico High School. He moved to Central Illinois where he lived for 43 years. He returned to Dexter in 2001. He was a member of the Corinth General Baptist Church near Puxico.

On Aug. 16, 1958, during Puxico Homecoming, he was married to Joy Sifford in Puxico.

Surviving are his wife, Joy Scott of Dexter, Mo.; two sons and spouses, Randel and Dianna Scott of Locust Grove, Ga., Bradley and Krista Scott of Sullivan, Ill.; six grandchildren, Stephanie, Ryan, Alex, Rachel, Sarah and Brittany; two great-grandchildren, Evan and Beau; two sisters, Jean Bollinger of New Haven, Mich., Artie Hatchel of Bloomfield, Mo. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one brother, Everett Scott, Jr. and one sister, Marybelle Fowler.

Visitation will be Sunday, May 14, 2011, from 5-8 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Mo.

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 16, 2011, at 10 a.m. at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Puxico with the Rev. Bob Bradford of Advance, Mo.,i and the Rev. Jimmy Clark of Puxico officiating.

Interment will be in the Rock Hill Cemetery near Puxico with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico in charge of arrangements.
