Anna Carey, daughter of the late Joseph Lee and Beulah Walker Lee was born on Dec. 7, 1917 in Chetopa, Kan. and died at the Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter, Mo., on June 7, 2011 at the age of 93.

Mrs. Carey was a former clerk at P.N. Hirsch Department Store in Dexter, was of the Baptist faith, and a resident of Dexter.

On Oct. 27, 1979 she was united in marriage to William "Bill" Carey in Aid, Mo. Mr. Carey preceded her in death on Sept. 15, 1999.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Lowell "Bud" Lewis and Barb of Sikeston, Mo., and Roy Lewis and Wanda of Advance, Mo.; one daughter and son-in-law, Linda Keith Duke and Ray of Dexter; one sister, Mabel Nations of Park Hills, Mo.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Shirley Lynn; five brothers; one sister; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 9:30-11:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 9, 2011.

Funeral services will then be conducted at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 9, 2011, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Phil Warren officiating.

Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
