Laurie Ann DeWitt, daughter of Jerry Nimmo of Sikeston, Mo. and Margaret Ann Taylor of More-house, Mo. was born on Sept. 25, 1968 in Sikeston and died on Aug. 16, 2011 at her residence in Morehouse at the age of 42.

Laurie was a Dental Assistant at Dr. Leible's office in Sikeston, Mo. until September 2009; a member of the Essex Church of Christ in Essex, Mo. and a resident of Morehouse.

On Sept.18, 1987 she was united in marriage to Brad DeWitt in Dexter, Mo. Mr. DeWitt survives of the home in Morehouse.

Besides her husband, survivors include her father, Jerry, and step-mother, Brenda Nimmo of Sikeston; mother Margaret Ann Taylor of Morehouse; her maternal grandmother, Alene Taylor, of Morehouse; two daughters, Erica DeWitt Emison and husband Brian of Jonesboro, Ark. and Taylor DeWitt of Morehouse; one sister, Kim Wilson of O'Fallon, Mo.; a mother-in-law, Linda Dewitt; sister-in-law, Donna Groves; brother-in-law, Jimmy Groves; a niece, Kasey Eiceman; and her nephew, Jeramy Roberts.

Mrs. Dewitt was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Herschel Dewitt.

Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 18, 2011. Funeral services will then be conducted at 1 p.m. on Thursday in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Herman Morse officiating. Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
