Marilou Payne, daughter of Maxine Goode Simmons and the late William T. Simmons was born in Parma, Mo. on Aug. 31, 1939, and died at the Regional Medical Center in Memphis, Tenn. on Sept. 16, 2011, at the age of 72.

She had lived in Parma, Mo. most of her life. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Parma, and had worked in home health as a nurse's aid.

On June 14, 1965, she was married to Alvin Oscar Payne in Little Rock, Ark.

Surviving are her husband, Alvin Oscar Payne of Parma, Mo.; one son, Timothy Allen Payne of Millington, Tenn.; her mother, Maxine Goode Simmons of Parma, Mo.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Gary Simmons of Malden, Mo.; and one sister, Shirley Harris of Dexter, Mo. Other relatives and friends also survive.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Larry and Jerry Simmons.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2011, from 5 - 9 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Parma, Mo.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2011, at 10 a.m. in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Parma with the Rev. Kerry Stokes of Charleston, Mo. officiating.

Interment will be in the Bernie Cemetery in Bernie, Mo. with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Parma, in charge of arrangements.
