After graduation from Dexter High School in 2004, Jessica attended Murray State University in Murray, Ky.; receiving a Bachelor's Degree Honors Diploma in Chemistry and Music Performance in 2009. Entering graduate school, she received a Master's Degree in Chemistry from Murray State University in 2011. She was a member of the MSU Honors Program, University Chamber Singers, Omicon Delta Kappa: the leadership honors society and Sigma Alpha Iota: an international music society for women. Currently, Jessica is pursuing a PhD in Bio-Chemistry at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn.
The groom-elect is the son of Jerry and Pamba Hooten of Bruceton, Tenn. Paternal grandparents are Ray and Ruby Hooten, both late, of Camden, Tenn. Maternal grandparents are Ella Rhea Pierce of Bruceton, Tenn. and the late Chief M. Pierce.
After graduation from Bruceton Central High School in 2004, Eli attended Murray State University in Murray, Ky.; receiving a Bachelor's degree Honors Diploma in Engineering Physics in 2009. He was a member and President of the MSU Honors Program, a member of Sigma Pi Sigma: the physics honors society, Pi Mu Epsilon: the math honors society and Omicron Delta Kappa: a nationwide collegiate honors society. He entered graduate school at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn. and received a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering in 2010. Currently, Eli is pursuing a PhD in Computer Science at Vanderbilt University. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Society.
The wedding ceremony is planned for Oct. 1, 2011 at 6 p.m. in the evening at the First United Methodist Church in Paris, Tenn. A private reception will follow at the Paris Convention Center.
The couple will reside in Nashville, Tenn.
