Mary Ellen Dudley, daughter of Frances Turasky Doud of Springfield, Ill. and the late Joseph James Doud, was born on April 24, 1943 in Spring-field, Ill. and died on Sept. 25, 2011 at the Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau at the age of 68.

Mrs. Dudley was retired from the Dexter Public School System after serving for a number of years as the Dexter Senior High School secretary. She was a member of the Dexter Lighthouse Christian Center and was a resident of Dexter.

Besides her mother, she is survived by two sons, James Dudley and Jeff Dudley, both of Dexter; by one daughter, Anita Barrios of St. Louis, Mo.; by one brother, Ernest Doud of Riverton, Ill.; by two sisters, Barbara Churchill of Riverton, Ill. and Alberta Levan of Springfield, Ill. and by six grandchildren.

Besides her father, she was preceded in death by one brother, Billy Doud .

Visitation will be at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter on Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011 at 10 a.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funer-al Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Tim Russell officiating. Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
