Willie Earl Vieth, 97, of Bernie, Mo. died Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011 at Golden Living Center in Malden, Mo.

Mr. Vieth was born Jan. 25, 1914 in St. Louis, Mo. He moved to the Bernie area in 1925 and resided there all of his life.

He was a farmer and was a member of White Oak Grove General Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon since Sept. 1, 1950. He presently was an honorary deacon. Mr. Vieth had formerly served in the National Guard and had served on the Bernie School Board.

He married Helen Dawson on Dec. 15, 1934 in Essex, Mo. She preceded him in death Aug. 18, 2002.

Survivors include two sons, Bill Vieth of Bernie, Mo. and Rodger Vieth of Huston, Texas; two daughters, Kathryn Keasler of Bernie, Mo. and Peggy Cox of Houma, La.; one brother, Floyd Vieth of Padu-cah, Ky.; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grand-children.

Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. on Wed-nesday at White Oak Grove General Baptist Church in Bernie, Mo.

The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the church with Bro. M.C. Moore officiating. Burial will be at Chalk Bluff Cemetery at Dexter, Mo.
