Charles Jeff Smith, son of the late John Tyler Smith and Anna D. Mayberry Smith, was born on Aug. 17, 1916, in Leora, Mo., and died on Oct. 26, 2011, at Mis-souri Southern Healthcare in Dexter, Mo., at the age of 95.
Mr. Smith was a veteran of the US Army, serving in World War II. He was a terminal manager and truck driver for Hart Transportation in Dexter for 18 years, and a resident of Dexter.
He was united in marriage to Virginia Robin-son on June 28, 1941, in Kennett, Mo. Mrs. Smith survives at their home in Dexter.
Besides his wife, survivors include two brothers, Halen Smith of Puxico, Mo., and John C. Smith of Garden City, Mich. Nieces, nephews, and many friends also survive.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Tim Smith; three half-brothers, Wil-lard Smith, Elzie Smith, and Herbie Smith; one sister, Aleen Heckler; and one half-sister, Essie Barnes.
Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, 2011. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011, at 2 p.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funer-al Home in Dexter with Rev. Joe Payne officiating.
Interment will follow at the Hill Cemetery near Bloomfield, Mo.
