Jim J. Long, 85, of Bloomfield, Mo., was born March 14, 1926, at Scopus, Mo., the son of Arnold and Hester Limbaugh Long, and died Nov. 4, 2011, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in WWII. He was retired from Arvin Automotive in Dexter, Mo.
Jim and Betty Lee Stoker were united in marriage on Aug. 20, 1971 in Advance, and she preceded him in death on May 8, 2008.
Survivors include two sons, Michael Long of Monet, Mo., and Mitchell Long of Advance, Mo.; a daughter, Vicki Long of Iowa; three step-sons, Terral Ellsworth of DeSoto, Mo., Michael Stoker of Brownwood, and Danny Stoker of Dexter, Mo.; a step-daughter, Kay Pyle of Bloomfield, Mo.; a sister, Mary Fuller of Green-ville, Miss.; 11 grandchild-ren; and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and two brothers.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2011, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance, Mo.
Graveside services were held at Walker Cemetery near Bloom-field, Mo., at 1 p.m., with full military rites.
