Edgar Solen Kinser

Edgar Solen Kinser, son of the late Charles Jefferson Kinser and Dovie May Forkum Kinser, was born on May 9, 1926, in Powe and died in his residence in Dexter on Nov. 22, 2011, at the age of 85.

Mr. Kinser attended the Lighthouse Christian Center at Dexter, was the owner of Kinser Jewelry in Bloomfield for 50 years, and was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in World War II.

He was united in marriage to Alma Lee Pritchett at Piggott, Ark. Mrs. Kinser preceded him in death on Nov. 26, 1997.

He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Rick Glen and Pamela Kay Kinser, of Dexter; by one daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Bob Arnold, of Dexter; by five grandchildren, Michelle Hardin, Bobbie Whitaker, Anthony Jackson, Robbie Glen Kinser and Donnie Glen Kinser; by seven great-grandchildren, Tyler Hardin, Dylan Hardin, Hunter Hardin, Katelynne Jackson, Isiah Kinser, Lucas Kinser and Katelynne Kinser; and by one sister, Louise Jones, of Dexter.

Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Henry Watson, Chester Watson, Lester Kinser, Leroy Kinser and Charlie Kinser; and by two sisters, Lowetta McCrary and Thelma Gaines.

Visitation will take place at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 25, 2011. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Tim Russell officiating. Interment will follow in the Walker Cemetery.
