Lester "Gene" Stoker

Lester "Gene" Stoker, son of the late Lester Woodrow Stoker and Mildred Ruby Hudgens, was born on Dec. 26, 1939 in Bloomfield, Mo. and died at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo. on Nov. 27, 2011 at the age of 71.

Mr. Stoker worked for Brown Construction Company in Dexter for many years and was a resident of Dexter.

Survivors include two sons, Russell Stoker and Ethan Stoker, both of Dexter; two brothers, Robert Stoker and Lonnie Stoker, both of Dexter; five sisters, Marge Rickman of Dexter, Rachel Weaver and Janice McCollum, both of Bloomfield, Mo. Kay Marsh of California, and Pat Moore of Dexter; also two grandsons, Aaron and Brett Stoker, both of Dexter.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Leon and Jim Stoker; and by two sisters, Linda Stoker and Marie Stoker.

Visitation will take place at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 12:30 p.m. until 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, 2011. A memorial service will be conducted on Friday, Dec. 2, 2011 at 2 p.m.. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.
