Sammie Brown Nicholson, son of Mildred Brown Nichol-son and the late Albert Nicholson, was born in Charleston, Mo., on Dec. 19, 1941, and died in Walls, Miss., on Dec. 10, 2011, at the age of 69.

He was of the Methodist faith.

On Feb. 20, 1981, he was married to Eloise Christian in Abbeville, La.

Surviving are his wife, Eloise Nicholson, of Walls, Miss.; one daughter, Mary Ann Moyer of Sikeston, Mo.; one son, Scott Nicholson of Florida; one stepson, Tony Roper of Dexter, Mo; and seven grandchildren. Other relatives and many friends also survive.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Joyce Kirkpatrick, and one daughter, Gail Nicholson, who died in infancy.

Visitation took place on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2011, after 10 a.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Mo.

Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2011, at 11 a..m. at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Mo. with Rev. Kenneth Biggs, of Dexter, Mo., officiating.

Burial took place in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter, Mo. Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Mo., was in charge of arrangements.
