Wilburn Leon Allen

Wilburn Leon Allen, son of the late Orace Guy Allen and Valerie Ogelvie Allen, was born in Lamar, Ark., on May 26, 1939, and died at Missouri Southern Healthcare on Dec. 10, 2011, at the age of 72.

Mr. Allen had been a truck driver for Owens Brothers and also for Millington Trucking Company.

He was united in marriage to Glenda June Rodgers in Bernie, Mo., on June 22, 1961. Mrs. Allen preceded her husband in death on Oct. 17, 2007.

Other survivors include one son, Keith Leon Allen of Bernie, Mo.; one daughter, Rhonda June Carter of Dexter, Mo.; one sister, Nadine McCormick of St. Charles, Ill.; five grandchildren, Travis Carter of Dexter, Mo., and Brian Bowling, Brooklyn Allen, Baylee Allen and Brandon Allen, all of Bloomfield, Mo.; also other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents and his wife, by one brother, Charles Allen, and by one sister, Pauline Dunn.

Visitation wil take place at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie, Mo., on Tuesday evening, Dec. 13, 2011, from 5-8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie on Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2011, starting at 11 a.m., with Rev. David Looney officiating.

Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery. Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
