Pat Cross, son of the late James Thomas and Viola Gann Cross, was born in Bernie, Mo., on Sept. 8, 1928, and died Dec., 25, 2011, at the age of 83.
Pat lived most of his life in Bernie, but spent
20 years in Chicago, Ill., where he worked for Myers Material and was a member of the Inter-national Union of Operating Engineers. He also served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a member of the Christian Church of Bernie.
In 1951, Pat married Rose Marie Kubisch, who preceded him in death in 1970. He is survived by two daughters, Deborah Martin of Killeen, Texas and Pamela Cross of Nadsh Port, Ohio; three grandchildren, Chris-topher Waugh, Jennifer Clark, and Michelle Gilmore; and five great-grandchildren, Tommy Waugh, Brandon and Dylan Clark, and Gonner and Mikaela Gilmore; and one sister, Emma Jean James of Bernie, Mo. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by four brothers.
Visitation took place at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2011, and funeral services followed at 1 p.m. in the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Dexter, Mo., with Brother John Adams officiating.
