Gilbert M. Faulkner

Gilbert M. Faulkner, son of the late Earnest Faulkner and Minnie Cantrel Faulkner, was born on July 31, 1932 in Bloomfield, Mo. and died on Jan. 3, 2012 at his residence in Dexter at the age of 79.

Mr. Faulkner retired from the United States Navy at the rank of Chief Petty Officer. He and his brother ran an aviation service. His brother, Norman, would fly planes and Gilbert serviced the planes. He was a resident of Dexter.

He is survived by one brother, Sam Faulkner, of Bloomfield, and by one sister, Donna Ruth Ann Faulkner, of Oregon.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers, Carl Faulkner, George Faulkner, John Vaughn, Norman Faulkner, Charles Faulkner and David Faulkner; and by four sisters, Beatrice Hester, Geneva Nelson, Virginia Merideth and Joyce Faulkner.

Visitation will take place at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Friday, Jan. 6, 2012 from 12:30 until 2 p.m. Funeral services will then be conducted on Friday, Jan. 6, 2012 at 2 p.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel.

Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with full military honors.
