Lowell Wallace

Lowell Wallace, son of the late Rev. Tom and Maudie Honeycutt Wallace, was born in Muskogee, Okla., on June 24, 1924, and died at the Golden Living Center in New Madrid, Mo., on Jan., 6, 2012, at the age of 87.

On Oct., 18, 1941, he married Edna Whitworth in Parma, Mo. She survives at their home. Also surviving are two daughters, Janice Bush and June Evans, both of Granite City, Ill.; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Also surviving is his friend and caregiver, Don Cook, along with other friends and family members.

Mr. Wallace was preceded in death by his sister, Flora Salyer; five brothers, Troy, Vernon, George, Jack, and Tom Wallace; and two sons, Carl Gene and Jimmy Dale Wallace.

Visitation took place on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012, at 10 a.m. at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Parma, Mo.

Funeral services followed at 1 p.m. in the Watkins and Sons Chapel in Parma, with Rev. Jerry Channey, Sr. officiating.

Interment took place in the Bernie City Cemetery in Bernie, Mo., with Watkins and Sons Funeral Service of Parma in charge of arrangements.
