Bette S. Scism, daughter of the late Gus and Flodia Wilkerson Keller, was born on Jan., 20, 1925, in Bell City, Mo., and died at the Galloway Nursing Home in Gallaoway, Tenn., on Jan. 20, 2012, at the age of 87.

Mrs. Scism had lived in Stoddard County most of her life and had lived in Memphis, Tenn., the past four years.

On Jan. 29, 1952, she was married to Byron Scism. He preceded her in death on Oct., 22, 2006.

Surviving are three sons, Tom Scism of Germantown, Tenn., Bill Schween of Memphis, Tenn., and Eric Schween of New Glans, Wis.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Other relatives and many friends also survive.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Warren Keller.

Graveside funeral services and internment were held on Monday, Jan. 23, 2012, at 1 p.m. at the Bloomfield Cemetery in Bloomfield, Mo., with Rev. Gilbert Mitchell officiating. Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Mo. was in charge of all arrangements.
