Mr. Capps had lived in Michigan before moving to Advance, Mo., 42 years ago. He had worked at Arvin Automotive in Dexter and was a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses.
On Oct. 21, 1960, he was married to Kathryn C. O'Bryant in Buchanan, Mich. Surviving are his wife, Kathryn C. Capps of Advance, Mo; two sons, Joey Capps and David Capps, both of Advance, Mo; three daughters, Linda Anderson of Cape Girardeau, Mo., Pat Thurman of Advance, Mo., and Teresa Richardson of Summersville, Mo.; six grandchildren; three brothers, Bobby Glenn Capps of Jefferson City, Mo., Coleman Capps of Advance, Mo., and Willie Capps of Monett, Mo.; and seven sisters, Shirley Kidd of Advance, Mo., Mary Classcock of Colo., Patricia Starkl of Dexter, Mo., Vicky Green and Phyllis VanGennip of Monett, Mo., Rosalie Capps of St. Louis, Mo., and Janie Sandovol of Ill. Other relatives and many friends also survive.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Clifford Capps, and his step-mother, Josephine Capps.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012, at the Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance, Mo., with Jesse Lacey of Dexter, Mo., officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. before the services.
Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Mo. is in charge of all arrangements.
