Jimmie Roach, son of the late Bob and Sadie Fleeman Roach, was born in Hornersville, Mo., on Sept. 29, 1937, and died at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Mo., on Jan. 26, 2012, at the age of 74.
He had lived in Bloomfield, Mo., for 45 years. He worked as a supervisor at Purolator in Dexter, Mo. He was a member of the White Oak General Baptist Church near Bernie, Mo., and was an avid Cardinal Baseball fan.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
On Jan. 26, 1965, he married Margie Sue Hester in Nashville, Tenn.
Surviving are his wife, Margie Roach of Bloomfield, Mo.; one son and daughter-in-law, Mike and July of Bloomfield, Mo.; one grandchild, Chris; and one sister, Jane Broadway of Kennett, Mo. Several nieces, nephews, other family and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by three
sisters and two brothers.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 30, 2012, at the Missouri State Veteran's Cemeter in Bloomfield, Mo. with Rev. M. C. Moore of Dexter officiating. Full military honors will be conducted.
Interment will be in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Mo., with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
