Jean Wilson Poe, 89, of Doniphan, Mo., died Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girar-deau, Mo.

Mr. Poe, son of Floyd Willis and Alma Francis (Jackson) Poe, was born Feb. 16, 1922, in Puxico, Mo. He was retired from the postal service. Mr. Poe was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U. S. Navy.

He was married to Tina Spriggs on May 28, 1942, in Pine Bluff, Ark. She preceded him in death on Dec. 18, 2005.

Surviving are three daughters, Linda Dodd and Donna Hudson, both of Doniphan, Mo., and Barbara McClellan of Bloomfield, Mo.; six grandchildren, Steven Hudson, Tommy Dodd, Timmy Dodd, Tina McSoley, Tracy Gonos Hays and Jeffrey Gonos; 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-greatgrandsons; two sisters, Joyce Poe of Campbell, Mo., and Marcie Bussa of The Villages, Fla; and one brother, James R. "Jim" Poe of High Ridge, Mo.

Mr. Poe was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Alma Poe; his wife, Tina Poe; one son, Stephen Poe; two sisters, JoAnn Hanna and Connie Sue Chronister; two brothers, Floyd W. "Junior" Poe, Jr. and Paul Robert "Bob" Poe; and one granddaughter, Tammy Dodd.

Visitation for Mr. Poe will be Tuesday evening, Jan. 31, 2012, from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan, Mo.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home's chapel, with Brother Wade Rogers officiating. Burial will follow

in the Doniphan City Cemetery.
