Ruth Holtzhouser
Ruth Evelyn Holtz-houser, daughter of the late Virgil Marvin Bennett and Annie Laurie Moring Bennett, was born in Shook, Mo., on Jan. 10, 1930, and died at her residence in Bernie, Mo., on Feb. 9, 2012 at the age of 82.

Mrs. Holtzhouser was a Med Tech at Elgin Mental Hospital in Elgin, Ill. until her retirement. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bernie. She was united in marriage to Donald Gene Holtzhouser in Piggott, Ark., on June 4,1948. Mr. Holtzhouser preceded her in death on Dec. 18, 1997.

Survivors include one son, Dale Holtzhouser of Harrison, Ohio; three daughters, Brenda Mor-lan of Idalia, Mo., Daphne Briles and Sheryl Wilhite both of Bernie, Mo.; two sisters, Delores Norden of Bernie, Mo., and Carolyn Buckley of Malden, Mo.; 10 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grand-chil-dren. Other relatives and many friends also survive.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Danny Bennett and Connie Bennett; by one sister, Velma Bennett; and one great-grandchild, Kristina Parks.

Visitation will be at Bernie First Baptist Church on Hwy. 25 in Bernie on Saturday, Feb.11, 2012 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Funeral services will follow at 11:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church.

Interment will be in the Bernie Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church in Bernie, Mo. Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
