Bettie Rowland, daughter of the late Edward W. Bean and Olive Taylor Bean, was born on Sept. 9, 1918, in Sikeston, Mo., and died on April 15, 2012, at the Cypress Point Skilled Care Facility in Dexter at the age of 93.

Mrs. Rowland was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dexter, a seamstress for Elders Manufacturing and a resident of Dexter.

On Nov. 23, 1939, she was united in marriage to Marvin DeWayne Rowland in Corinth, Miss. Mr. Rowland preceded her in death on March 24, 1990.

She is survived by two sons, Dennis Rowland and Gene Rowland, both of Dexter; two daughters, Edwina Woolard and Marla Buchanan, both of Puxico; one brother, Wallace Gayle Bean of Dexter; one sister, Ruth Kee of St. Louis, Mo.; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Tuesday, April 17, 2012, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at 2 p.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Wayne Dismuke officiating.

Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
