Melba Jean (Stevenson) Ruhl, 72, of Springfield, Ill., died May 29, 2012, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Ill.

She was born Oct. 31, 1939, in Greenbrier, Mo., the daughter of Wilbur and Elsie Crites Robins. She was raised in Advance, believed in the Baptist faith and had been a homemaker. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved to laugh.

Melba and John Ruhl were married on March 22, 2003 in Advance. Mr. Ruhl survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Rodney (Alice) Stevenson of Tuckerman, Ark., and Randy (Dianne) Stevenson of Odessa, Texas; two daughters, Pamela Stevenson-Wolf of Springfield, Ill., and Robin (Lance) Williamsville, Ill., nine grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, eight great-grand-children, seven step great-grandchildren, and a brother, Farel Robins of Advance.

She was preceeded in death by her parents and one brother, Norman Robins.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 1, 2012, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Morgan Funeral Home in Advance.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 2, 2012, at 11 a.m. in the chapel. Interment will follow at Morgan Memorial Park in Advance, Morgan Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.
