Doug is survived by his wife Judy. His parents, Neal and Christine Mansfield and sister Donna, of Dudley, Mo. A daughter, Lisa and son-in-law Steve Lucy of New Madrid, Mo., two sons, David of Pacific, Mo., and Russell and daughter-in-law Stephanie of Wentzville, Mo. One granddaughter Madison. Doug also had a large extended family and many friends.
A former resident of Dudley, Mo., Doug served his country proudly in the Navy through the Vietnam War.
Doug was a graduate of Ranken Technical School (Electronics), among other education. Doug worked in the electronics field, providing service and installation on machinery in hospitals and medical facilities across the U.S. He was an avid hunter, car enthusiast, and spent several years as a leader in Boy Scout Troop 363.
Doug was always friendly, sociable, modest, knowledgeable, and helpful, he was loved by all. He had many family and friends both in the St. Louis area and the Southeast Mo., community. Because of this, two locations will be available for family and friends to gather both in the St. Louis area and the Dexter/Bloomfield area.
Funeral Services will be held for Doug at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at 17357 Stars and Stripes Way, Bloomfield, Mo., 63825, on Thursday, June 14, 2012 at 12 p.m.
In addition, family and friends will gather in for a second date to celebrate Doug's life in Pacific, Mo., in the City Park just off of W. Congress Street on Sunday, July 1, 2012 at 2 p.m. This will be an informal event for all of us to gather and celebrate Doug's great life.
