Douglas Ray Mansfield

Wednesday, June 13, 2012

Douglas Ray Mansfield, age 64, was born Feb. 24, 1948, and died at his home in Pacific, Mo., on Tuesday, June 5, 2012, of a sudden heart attack.

Doug is survived by his wife Judy, his parents, Neal and Christine Mansfield, and sister Donna, of Dudley, Mo.; a daughter Lisa and son-in-law Steve Lucy of New Madrid, Mo.; two sons, David of Pacific, Mo., and Russell and daughter-in-law Stephanie of Wentzville, Mo.; and one granddaughter, Madison.

Doug also had a large extended family and many friends.

A former resident of Dudley, Mo., Doug served his country proudly in the Navy through the Vietnam War.

Doug was a graduate of Ranken Technical School (Electronics), among other education. Doug worked in the electronics field, providing service and installation on machinery in hospitals and medical facilities across the U.S. He was an avid hunter, car enthusiast, and spent several years as a leader in Boy Scout Troop 363.

Doug was always friendly, sociable, modest, knowledgeable, and helpful. He was loved by all. He had many family and friends both in the St. Louis area and the Southeast Missouri community. Because of this, two locations will be available for family and friends to gather, both in the St. Louis area and the Dexter/Bloomfield area.

Funeral services will be held for Doug at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at 17357 Stars and Stripes Way, Bloomfield, Mo., 63825, on Thursday, June 14, 2012, at 12 p.m.

In addition, family and friends will gather for a second date to celebrate Doug's life in Pacific, Mo., in the City Park just off of W. Congress Street on Sunday, July 1, 2012, at 2 p.m.

This will be an informal event for all who knew Doug to gather and celebrate his great life.
