Ray Wiseman, 72, of Advance, Mo., died July 4, 2012, at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo. He was born Aug. 27, 1939, in Sturdivant, Mo., the son of Claude and Josie Hardesty Wiseman.

Ray had been a mechanic all of his life. He retired from the Advance School District and was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Dexter.

Ray and Virginia Allen were united in marriage on Dec. 16, 1960, in Bell City, and she preceded him in death on Jan. 5, 1996. He later married Naomi Cecil on Aug. 16, 1996, and she survives.

Other survivors include two daughters and their spouses, Sherry (Ben) Pate and Amy (Alan) VanGennip, all of Advance; two grandchildren, Bradly (Abby) Pate and Ally Jo VanGennip; one great-grandchild, Addison Pate; two step-children, Marla (Mark) DeLay of Advance and Steve (Peggy) Cecil of Decatur, Ill.; seven step-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister.

Visitation and funeral services were held Sunday, July 8, 2012, at the Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance. Interment followed at the Bollinger County Memorial Park in Marble Hill, Mo.
