Mrs. Bleichner was born on Aug. 19, 1946, in Top-pertown, Mo., the daughter of Billy Milton McCollum and Laura Victoria (Knight) McCollum. She married Robert Bleichner on Feb. 17, 1979, and he survives.
Loyce and her husband Bob were the owners of the Pizza Shack in Benton. She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Benton and Ducks Unlimited, Sesser Chap-ter. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed sewing, gardening and spending time with her family.
Surviving are her husband, Bob Bleichner, of Benton; five children, Erin Shannon of Benton, Alan Brockett of O'Fallon, Sgt. Robert Bleichner II, USAF, Dr. Amanda Bleichner of Carbondale, and Ryan Bleichner of Benton; three grandchildren, Victoria Atchison, Samuel Anastasi, and Addison Anastasi, all of Benton; one sister, Ruthie McCollum of Benton; two brothers, Michael (Jolene) McCollum and Steve (Dixie) McCollum, both of Jackson, Mo.; three sisters-in-law, Beverly (Ron) Sexton of Philo, Janice Revell and Martina (Allen) Dial, both of Urbana; and one brother-in-law, Paul Bleichner of Urbana. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
Mrs. Bleichner was preceded in death by her parents and first husband, Lance Shannon.
Visitation was held Monday, Aug. 13, 2012,
at the Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory in Benton. A funeral Mass was held Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Benton with Father Joseph Trapp officiating. Burial followed in the Masonic and Odd Fellows Cemetery in Benton.
