Rosa Darlene Davis, daughter of James Roy and Rachel Brady Davis, was born in Puxico, Mo. on Oct. 23, 1951, and died at the Puxico Nursing Center in Puxico, Mo. on Aug. 15, 2012, at the age of 60.
Darlene had lived in Puxico her entire life. She was a teacher and had worked in the Poplar Bluff R1 School District where she taught Business Education. She was a sponsor of FBLA and the Department Chairperson of Business Education for the Poplar Bluff R1 School District. She was also a member of the SEMO Business Educators Association and the Missouri Teachers Association, and she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Post 7822 and was a past president, serving 12 years. She was also an active member of the First Baptist Church in Puxico, where she was the director of WMU and taught the preschool Sunday School class.
Surviving are her parents, James Roy and Rachel Davis of Puxico, one sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Ronnal Clinton of Puxico; one brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Nikki Davis of Wappapello, Mo.; three nieces and spouses, Rachelle and Travis McGill of Puxico, Tonna and Eric O'Dell of Puxico, and Melissa Lam of Wappapello, Mo.; and two great nieces, Lydia O'Dell and Phoebe O'Dell, both of Puxico. Many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends also survive.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, Aug. 16, 2012, from 4-7 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Puxico in Puxico. VFW Auxilary Post 7822 will have a memorial service Thursday evening at the First Baptist Church in Puxico.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Aug. 17, 2012, at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Puxico in Puxico with Rev. Justin Miller of Puxico and Rev. Phil Bray of Macon, Mo. officiating.
Interment will be in Puxico Cemetery in Puxico.
