Catherine M. Barber, daughter of the late Earl Clark and Flavie Cornman Clark, was born on June 11, 1920, in Puxico, Mo., and died at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston on Aug. 19, 2012, at the age of 92.

Mrs. Barber was a member of the Sweet Prospect General Baptist Church in Dexter, a former employee of International Hat Company in Dexter, a farmer, home-maker, and a resident of Dexter.

She was united in marriage to Deon Barber on June 1, 1946, in Piggott, Ark. Mr. Barber preceded her in death on Sept. 7, 1988.

Survivors include two daughters, Joyce Minton Wade of Dexter and Kay Eaves and husband Tommy of Clarksville, Tenn.; one brother, Larry Clark of Ziegler, Ill.; one sister, Lola Mae Hilliman of Flint, Mich.; five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grand-children.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers, Vernon Clark, Kenneth Clark, Ralph Clark, Jack Clark, Ray Clark, and Leroy Clark.

Visitation was held at the Rainey-Mathis Funer-al Home in Dexter from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2012.

Funeral services were then conducted at 2 p.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ray Rowland officiating. Interment followed in the Dexter Cemetery.
